Alright. With every successful roleplay, there has to be some rules to lay down.
I. Etiquette
A. Be respectful to other members. Arguements and fights are acceptable in character, but you need a reason for it. It ads to the "reality" of Verbatim.
B. Cursing is fine. If you're here, then you obviously have a certain amount of maturity, and I trust that every other word isn't going to be "fuck". (And I'd better never find a "FUK U".)
C. Harass the admin/mods, and you're gone. Sorry. You're welcome to politely argue a point, but to an extent, you need to stop. If we give a firm answer, then accept it.
II. Roleplay Rules
A. No godmoding. No powerplaying. The only exception to this is if you're playing a minor NPC-type that makes a brief appearance, or if you're playing a relative of yourself.
B. Keep posts at a minimum of a paragraph (4 sentences). There has to be sufficient detail to help keep the roleplay going. Let me just say this while I'm at it:
-Proper spelling and grammar is a must, although a typo here and there is fine.
-Only posts in past tense 3rd person is acceptable (i.e. "He walked down the street, looking for a payphone.")
C. There is no tolerance for being in two places at once. If you're going somewhere, post it in the Travel forum. You can take buses, subways, trains, taxis, car, bike... whatever. Just make sure we know what you're taking. Also please keep in mind the time estimates from getting to one place to another (also in the travel forum), as well as the traffic updates.
D. Pay attention to the weather, and news reports! These things will, for the most part, dictate what you do. If it's 45 degrees out, raining, and your charcter is wearing shorts and a tang top, a mod/admin will warn you that you're getting sick if you don't do so of your own initiative.
E. OBEY THE LAW. If you don't, then the coppers will probably find you and send you to prison. You wouldn't want that, right? Then again... the Lindon Islands have a tendency to behave in a surreal way...
F. IMPORTANT. If you're going away for a few days and don't have access to a computer, please make sure your character is either sick and immobilized, or out of the country, via cruise or airplane.
III. Notes on Characters
A. Your character can't live beyond their means. If they're in college and working part-time at a Spee-D-Mart, then odds are, they'll be living in a small apartment with a few roomates.
B. Characters have to have flaws, oke? They can be drop-dead gorgeous and filthy rich, but they probably won't be too bright.
C. No superpowers, alright? That's not what this is about. Your character can claim to be psychic, or to see ghosts, or whatever, but we all know that it's not really true.
D. Multiple characters for each registered username is encouraged! The more people in this place, the better. If you have more than one character, please link their names to their proper bios/applications.
